About Rikuzame

Rikuzame was created in response to excess.

Too much noise. Too much branding. Too much disposable gear designed to be replaced rather than kept.

We wanted something different.

Rikuzame produces in limited releases only.

Each product is developed with intent, manufactured in controlled numbers for specific people, and never endlessly reproduced.

No permanent catalogue.
No mass production.
No artificial discounting.
No manufacturing just for landfill.

When a release closes, it is finished.

We do not manufacture speculatively.

Every Rikuzame release is produced for the people who choose to own it.

This allows us to maintain strict control over production numbers, avoid unnecessary waste, and ensure that every release remains genuinely limited.

Historical Grounding

Our first limited edition gi, The Raku, honours Professor Sadakazu Uyenishi, one of the earliest Japanese jiu-jitsu instructors in Britain.

Long before Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu became global, figures like Uyenishi helped introduce and demonstrate the effectiveness of groundfighting in the West.

That history matters to us.

Not as nostalgia, but as foundation.

Built to Be Kept

We believe equipment should last, age well, feel personal, and reward long-term use.

The goal is not endless consumption.

The goal is ownership.

Rikuzame is built slowly, intentionally, and in limited numbers.
That is the point.
